AFI has added a second North American leg to the band’s current live schedule in support of its latest release, the self-titled album also known as the “Blood Album.” According to Alternative Press, the new leg is a mix of headlining dates and festivals, with stops at the Bunbury, Firefly and Amnesia Rock festivals on the itinerary. Following an April appearance at a festival in Santa Ana, California and some U.K. dates, the run will start on June 2nd in Richmond, Virginia.

The “Blood Album” is AFI’s 10th studio effort and features the singles “Snow Cats,” “White Offerings” and Aurelia.” Frontman Davey Havok told us that AFI has always recorded music with the goal of playing it live: [“Live performance is really the impetus for making a record. A lot of people love recording and making records, but for us, it’s like, ‘Well, let’s write some songs and record them so people will know them when we play them live.’ And that’s always kind of stuck with me, so I hope people enjoy them live.”]

  • The current tour is AFI’s first full jaunt in several years, following the completion of the tour cycle for 2013’s Burials album.
