Avenged Sevenfold is offering one lucky fan the opportunity to own one of the band’s original bass guitars, which was used to record the group’s first-ever demo. The first $500 from the sale of the bass will be donated to charity. Avenged recently put up the “Tower Of Terror” bass guitar for auction, which was played by the band’s original bassist Matt Wendt. The bass is also signed. Aside from being used to record their first demo, the bass was also played live at Avenged Sevenfold’s first few live performances ever — making it a vital piece of the band’s history. The band wrote on the auction site, “We started Avenged Sevenfold in 1999 while in high school . . . Matt played with us for a couple of years before deciding to head off to college. We had many fun years with him growing up. Recently, we caught up with Matt at a show and he thought that there would possibly be an A7X fan out there that would like his original bass that he played on our first demo.” Avenged Sevenfold has kept a low profile so far during 2019 and will not return to the road until next year.
