Beartooth has announced that a deluxe edition of its latest album Aggressive will arrive on May 26th. The set will contain six bonus tracks, including an acoustic version of “Hated,” the band’s breakthrough single that is currently Number Five on the rock radio chart. Also included are an acoustic version of “Sick Of Me,” live takes of the album’s title track and “Rock Is Dead” from a BBC session, as well as concert renditions of “Fair Weather Friend” and “King Of Anything” recorded in the band’s hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo told us that doing acoustic versions of songs like “Hated” didn’t appeal to him at first: [“Acoustic versions in general, I think we were all pretty against, and we were like, ‘This is just gonna be weird to try and translate it.’ But after trying it, it turned out really cool. I love doing it because I get to sing not just literally hollering as loud and as high as I can the whole time, which is cool. It’s just fun to play acoustic stuff sometimes. It’s just a change of pace.”]
- A bonus live DVD is also featured with the deluxe edition and captures the band’s November 11th, 2016 show at the Express Live! in Columbus.
- Beartooth is one of four bands rumored to lead the lineup of this year’s Warped Tour, along with CKY, Gwar and Hatebreed. The full lineup will be announced on Wednesday (March 22nd).
- The band is currently on the road with Bring Me The Horizon and plays the second of two New York City shows on Tuesday night (March 21st).
