Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus is currently auctioning off nearly 80 pieces of gear, including one of his iconic basses, in order to benefit LGBTQ rights. It all started after the news broke about the “Straight Pride Parade,” in which a Boston man responded to Pride Month by looking to hold his own parade celebrating “straight pride.” The idea infuriated Hoppus, who called it “ridiculous” and responded by pledging to put a bass guitar up for auction and donate double the proceeds to the Trevor Project, a suicide prevention organization focused on LGBTQ youth.
