Slipknot singer Corey Taylor has explained why the band’s song “All Out Life,” which was released last October, will not be included on the group’s upcoming sixth studio LP, We Are Not Your Kind. Speaking with Kerrang! magazine, Taylor explained, “‘All Out Life’ was kind of its own thing that really just let people know that we weren’t gone, and that we were still looking forward and working on music. It was just such a catchy song that it made sense to release it. But now, in context with the story that we’re telling on the new album, we weren’t sure if we were going to put it on there.” As for how the line in the song “we are not your kind” ended up becoming the title of the new album, Taylor said, “I didn’t think it would be anything more than a great chant at a concert . . . but it took on a life of its own, and that’s when I really started thinking about the phrase; about how it could be perceived.” We Are Not Your Kind will arrive on August 9th. The band kicks off a headlining tour on July 26th in Mountain View, California.
