PEARL JAM FRONTMAN EDDIE VEDDER PAID A HEFTY FINE IN ORDER TO KEEP PERFORMING PAST THE VENUE CURFEW DURING A JUNE 9TH SHOW IN DUBLIN, IRELAND. ACCORDING TO DIFFUSER, VEDDER BRIEFLY LEFT THE STAGE HALFWAY THROUGH HIS MARATHON 33-SONG SET SO THAT HE COULD WRITE A CHECK TO LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR THE EQUIVALENT OF $28,000 TO KEEP PLAYING. VEDDER CLEARLY HAD A LOT OF MUSICAL GROUND HE WANTED TO COVER, WITH THAT NIGHT’S SHOW CONTAINING A NUMBER OF PEARL JAM FAVORITES AS WELL AS SONGS FROM VEDDER’S SOLO CATALOG AND AN ARRAY OF COVERS. AS WITH OTHER DATES ON HIS EUROPEAN TOUR, THE SHOW FEATURED BACKING BY THE RED LIMO STRING QUARTET PLUS AN APPEARANCE FROM GLEN HANSARD, WHO JOINED HIM FOR A NUMBER OF SONGS LATER IN THE SHOW. VEDDER REMAINS IN EUROPE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE MONTH, CLOSING OUT THE EUROPEAN LEG OF HIS 2017 SOLO TOUR IN SICILY ON JUNE 27TH BEFORE RETURNING TO THE UNITED STATES FOR A HANDFUL OF FESTIVAL DATES IN SEPTEMBER.
