Gorillaz have confirmed their first North American performance in seven years, according to Consequence Of Sound. The animated band and the real-life musicians who play their music will appear at the Quebec City Summer Festival on Saturday, July 15th. The 11-day event will also feature headlining performances from Metallica, Muse, The Who and Kendrick Lamar.
- This is only the second announced show of the summer for the Damon Albarn-led act. The other, the band’s own Demon Dayz Music Festival, is set for June 10th in Margate, England.
- The shows are in support of the new Gorillaz album, Humanz, which arrives on April 28th. A video has already been released for the song “Saturn Barz.”
- Humanz contains 14 tracks and is the first new effort from Gorillaz since 2010’s The Fall.
