Green Day has unveiled the music video for “Still Breathing,” a track off the band’s new album Revolution Radio. The clip starts with a group of people from all walks of life — including the members of Green Day — looking longingly into the distance as if haunted by something from their past. By the end of the video, however, the people in the video find a kind of renewal and hope in simple things like a beautiful blue ocean, a windswept forest and a dog.

Green Day themselves went through some tough times before recording Revolution Radio and bassist Mike Dirnt told us it only made them appreciate their lives more: [“I mean, we went through some tough stuff, but everybody in life is gonna have to go through some tough stuff, and I think the one thing about going through heavy things in life, whether it’s, you know, illness or a death in the family or a near-death experience — whatever you want to call it — you get perspective on the other side of that and the perspective for us is, ‘Wow, we’ve still got these guys that we can get into a room with and create something really meaningful and special.'”]

  • Revolution Radio followed a four-year stretch in which Green Day dealt with personal struggles like frontman Billie Joe Armstrong‘s stint in rehab and both touring guitarist Jason White and bassist Mike Dirnt‘s wife Brittney battling cancer.
  • Revolution Radio is Green Day’s 12th studio effort and debuted at Number One on the Billboard album chart in October, the band’s third album to do so.
  • Following a European tour in early 2017, the band will embark on a North American run in the spring, beginning on on March 1st in Phoenix and ending on April 8th in San Diego.
