Hellyeah has started lining up fall North American headlining tour dates in addition to some previously announced festival appearances. The dates kick off on September 18th in Chester, Pennsylvania at the Rock Allegiance festival, with shows booked into early October. The band is touring in support of its fifth studio effort, Unden!able, which debuted two weeks ago at Number 18 on the Billboard 200 album chart with sales of 21,000 copies.
Singer Chad Gray told us how the band goes about preparing new songs to put in the show: [“We’ll all get in a room, and we just kind of start with the first song and we just hammer that out a couple of times, kind of work the bugs out of it, and it starts sounding more and more like that song. Something that we always do, we get together and we play through every single song and we work all the bugs out of every single song.”] SOUNDCUE (:16 OC: . . . every single song.)
- Unden!able includes a cover of the 1982 Phil Collins hit “I Don’t Care Anymore.” The tune features a guitar track from late Pantera guitarist and Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott‘s brother “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, which the siblings first recorded 14 years ago.
- You can currently find Hellyeah out on the road with In This Moment, Shaman’s Harvest and Sunflower Dead on the Hellpop Tour, which stops on Wednesday night (June 29th) in Birmingham, Alabama.

Swagger Jackers wrote: “They sound less and less like Hellyeah with each new album; which is a good thing. That’s a backhanded compliment but a compliment nonetheless.”
IamChristian wrote: “Why are the worst bands sometimes the most active? Help yourselves to a hiatus.”
Jiggle wrote: “That’s actually my exact point. They suck but are constantly putting out crap albums (5 in 10 years) and playing s**t tours.”
SIDE NOTES: Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, whose brother, Pantera guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, was shot to death onstage by a disturbed fan in December 2004, shared his thoughts with Odessa, Texas radio station KBAT about the recent similar incident in Orlando in which pop star Christina Grimmie was gunned down. Abbott said, “It just floored me, man. I never thought it would happen again after (Dimebag’s murder) . . . It’s just unbelievable that there’s still people that are that fanatical and that crazy out there in today’s world that we don’t have enough security to keep that from happening.” (Loudwire)
