Korn fans got an unexpected surprise on Saturday night (July 16th) during the band’s set at the Chicago Open Air festival in Bridgeview, Illinois. The group debuted a new song called “Rotting In Vain,” performing it live for the first time. An official stream of the studio version of the track will reportedly be released on Friday (July 22nd). The tune will appear on Korn’s upcoming 12th album, which is tentatively due out this fall.
  • It is not clear whether “Rotting In Vain” will serve as the first official single from the new disc or merely a preview track.
  • The CD will feature a guest appearance by Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor on one song.
  • The yet-to-be-titled follow-up to 2013’s The Paradigm Shift marks the second Korn album since the return of guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, who said, “This is a record to me that the intensity of Korn is back, and the live energy. Raw energy is there.”
  • Korn is co-headlining the “Return Of The Dreads” tour this summer with Rob Zombie, beginning on July 19th in Englewood, Colorado.
