Metallica, Twenty One Pilots, Disturbed and Korn are among the rock and alternative artists who are nominees for the 59th annual Grammy Awards. The nominations were unveiled on Tuesday morning (December 6th), with Twenty One Pilots scoring a genre-leading five nominations, including Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Song Written For Visual Media.

  • Jack White was nominated in four categories, although three of those were for his writing, recording and performing work on Beyonce‘s Lemonade album, which leads all nominees with nine nods. White’s fourth nomination was in the Best American Roots Song category for the track “City Lights” on the Jack White: Acoustic Recordings 1998 – 2016 set.
  • Blink-182‘s nomination in the Best Rock Album category for its seventh studio effort, California, is the first of the pop-punk act’s 25-year career.
  • The Grammy Awards will be held on February 12th, 2017 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and broadcast on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET.
