Before headlining this weekend’s Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee, Pearl Jam played a surprise warm-up show on Thursday night (June 9th) at the headquarters of Jack White‘s Third Man Records in Nashville. According to Consequence Of Sound, the performance was open only to 25 members of Pearl Jam’s fan club, who obtained tickets at a local record store just hours earlier.
Pearl Jam’s 10-song set kicked off with a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive” and also included tunes like “Corduroy,” “Pendulum” and “Deep.” For the encore, White himself joined Pearl Jam on stage for “Of The Earth,” while performances of “Hard To Imagine” and “Let Me Sleep” closed the show.
- The entire set was apparently recorded by Third Man, although we’ll have to wait to see if there are any plans to release it. Past concerts at Third Man Records have been recorded by White and later released.
- Pearl Jam will next appear at the Ride Festival in Telluride, Colorado on July 9th before doing two-night stands in August at Boston’s Fenway Park and Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
