An intersection in the Forest Hills neighborhood in the borough of Queens, New York will be officially renamed “Ramones Way” as a memorial to the legendary punk band. The spot, where 67th Avenue meets 110th Street, is right in front of Forest Hills High School, where the band’s original lineup met and began playing together. The street will officially be unveiled on October 23rd. This won’t be the first street named after the Ramones: the corner of East 2nd Street and the Bowery on Manhattan’s Lower East Side was renamed “Joey Ramone Place” after the singer’s death in 2001.
