• Drowning Pool was joined onstage on Friday (July 15th) at the Chicago Open Air festival by 82-year-old John Hetlinger to perform the song “Bodies.” Hetlinger became a viral video sensation last month when he belted out the track on the NBC series America’s Got Talent. The Navy veteran and aerospace manager also reportedly joined the group for a second performance on Ohio on Saturday (July 16th). (Loudwire)
  • Prophets Of Rage, the supergroup featuring members of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy‘s Chuck D and Cypress Hill‘s B-Real, played a free show on Friday (July 15th) on a rooftop in the area of downtown Los Angeles known as Skid Row, home to one of the country’s largest populations of homeless people. The nine-song set was a warm-up for the act’s upcoming tour, which kicks off on August 19th in Fairfax, Virginia, although the band may play outside the Republican National Convention this week in Cleveland.   • Motley Crue singer Vince Neil is reportedly being sued by a woman he assaulted in Las Vegas last April. The woman, Kelly Guerrero, is asking for $75,000 in damages for “substantial medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and emotional distress” incurred after Neil attacked her. Guerrero and her son reportedly walked by Neil, actor Nicolas Cage and comedian Carrot Top outside the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas, when she told Cage that her son was a big fan.Neil allegedly attacked Guerrero without warning or provocation, yanking her to the pavement by her hair until Cage came to the woman’s defense. Neil was charged with misdemeanor battery by Vegas police, with his first court date set for July 27th. No date is yet set for Guerrero’s suit against the singer. (Billboard)
