Former Creed singer Scott Stapp will release a new solo album titled The Space Between The Shadows in July. Stapp has already shared a visualizer video for the disc’s first single, “Purpose For Pain.” Stapp said about the track, “‘Purpose For Pain’ is about seeking a higher meaning, a spiritual mentality when dealing with our struggles and life’s painful moments. There are unexplainable, dark times that everyone goes through, and that pain is real.” He continued, “If we can dig deep and hold on to hope during the most difficult situations, believing there is a purpose waiting for us on the others side, we can find meaning and clarity that gives us the strength to keep fighting.” Stapp’s last solo LP, Proof Of Life, arrived in 2013. The following year, he went through a six-month, drug-induced meltdown in which he claimed mysterious forces were draining all the money from his bank accounts and alleged that members of his family were also part of ISIS. His wife filed for divorce and he lost custody of his kids, although his wife eventually helped him into recovery, where it was discovered that he suffered from bipolar disorder.
