Shinedown’s new single, “Get Up” has quickly gained traction among fans and now there’s a video to go with it. For frontman Brent Smith, the song was born out of watching his good friend and bassist Eric Bass, deal with depression. It’s something Smith understands. The new album, Attention, Attention is the first time Smith has written while being totally sober. He commented, “We don’t want people to feel ashamed about what they’re going through. You’re not going to be defined by your failures. You’re going to be defined by the fact that you didn’t give up.” Shinedown is on the road this summer for a co-headlining U.S. tour with Godsmack.
