Skillet has unveiled the details of a fall headlining U.S. tour that will kick off on September 22nd in Clive, Iowa. The tour is booked through October 23rd for now, with more dates to be added soon. The tour will feature Thousand Foot Krutch on the first half, while Sick Puppies will finish the second half of the tour. Devour The Day will be playing the entire trek. A fan club pre-sale begins on Wednesday (June 22nd).

Skillet will be touring behind its new album Unleashed, scheduled for release on August 5th. Frontman John Cooper admitted that this was an easier record to make than the band’s last effort, 2013’s Rise: [“My last record, I worked so hard on that thing. We fought and we yelled and I yelled at my producer and then we yelled at mixing…it just was such a nightmare, I felt like I needed six months off after, but I had to go do promo. And this time was easy. I mean, we just had a great time, I love the record, I’m enjoying promoting it. It’s not the best album in the world, it’s just the best album that we could make, so I’m pretty pumped up about it.”] SOUNDCUE (:23 OC: . . . up about it.)
