This Sunday (February 28th) marks the 88th Academy Awards. The ceremony will be hosted by Chris Rock.

The Revenant and Mad Max: Fury Road scored the most nominations when they were announced back in January. The announcement of the nominees sparked major backlash with the #OscarsSoWhite movement which has since turned into a full-on boycott by celebrities including Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Spike Lee, and more.

  • The boycott inspired the Academy to update their policies in the hopes of creating a more diverse membership and nominees.
