Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong‘s recently released movie, Ordinary World, features two brand new, original songs written and performed by Armstrong exclusively for the film. Now both those songs — titled “Devil’s Kind” and “Body Bag” — are online. The title song for the film is also the closing track on Green Day’s newly released 12th studio album, Revolution Radio.
- Ordinary World arrived on home video and VOD on October 14th and stars Armstrong in his first lead movie role as Perry, an aging punk rocker forced to face a midlife crisis on his 40th birthday.
- Armstrong has previously acted in films like This Is 40 and played St. Jimmy in the Broadway musical based on Green Day’s 2004 album American Idiot. A film version of the show is reportedly in the works at HBO.
- Green Day landed the third Number One album of its career earlier this month as Revolution Radio debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart with first-week sales of 95,000 units.
- The punk trio and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees kick off a North American arena tour on March 1st in Phoenix.
